By Emma Morgan, UG English and Philosophy
The Croft Magazine // Emma Morgan's candid and witty poem openly addresses the one-sided and distracting relationship with social media revealing its impacts on creativity and original thought.
I used to be a genius
or so they say
PRIMARY SCHOOL PROPAGANDA
Now I apologise too much for things I’m not sorry for
and I struggle with my 8 times tables
TikTok has made it so I can’t read now
but hey ho
I enjoy half baked Fleabag deconstructions
and sexy Kendall Roy edits
so it’s a worthy sacrifice in my opinion
Sometimes I sit &
think about having an original thought
but in the meantime
I’ll masturbate until my hands cramp
and search for academic validation
in completing the Guardian crossword
