The city-wide singalong on Saturday night is designed to spark community spirit.

Bristolians are being encouraged to join a traditional carol singalong at 5.30pm on 5 December from their front gardens, doorsteps, or windows.

The event has been organised by Bristolians Ruth Woodsend and Jo Waldock, as they were inspired by Clap for Carers in the spring. They hope it will ‘bring back community spirit.’

City residents will sing seven well-known carols, including ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Away in a Manger.’

‘The Bristol Sings!’ project began in Bishopston but has quickly spread through the city, with leaflets distributed in shops and online.

Lyrics for the carols can be found here.
