The Wonder Stuff / Ned's Atomic Dustbin @ O2 Academy: 12/04/18

Layla Link previews The Wonder Stuff / Ned's Atomic Dustbin's co-headline gig at O2 Academy Bristol tomorrow night (12/04/18).

The Wonder Stuff and Ned’s Atomic Dustbin are coming to Bristol’s O2 Academy on April 12th after travelling across the UK for their Love from Stourbridge, double headline tour. Joined on the road by the Pop Will Eat Itself’s Graham Crabb, who will play a guest DJ set each night, the bands are playing 12 dates between March and April.

Both bands (and Pop Will Eat Itself) helped put Stourbridge on the indie-rock music map in the late 80s and 90s. The bands rose to prominence with Wonder Stuff’s successful albums including the The Eight Legged Groove Machine and Hup while Ned’s Atomic Dustbin set the indie scene alight in 1990 with 'God Fodder' and the later singles 'Kill Your Television' and 'Happy'.

The Wonder Stuff frontman Miles Hunt questions whether their audience, who are now getting on a bit, "around the 50 mark" will have "the stamina for two bands in one night". However he’s certainly excited to find out: “I think it will be great. It’s going to be a great tour for sure.”
