A spokesperson for the University of Bristol said: 'We are very sad to report that [...] an undergraduate student [...] at the University of Bristol, has died.
'We have offered our support to [the student's] family and friends, and our thoughts and sympathies are with them all at this very difficult time.
'We know the profound impact that the death of one of our students can have on our students and staff.
'We would encourage any members of our community who are affected by this news to make sure they contact University wellbeing services for help, as well as seeking support from their own friends or family.'
Most people who are thinking of taking their own life have shown warning signs beforehand.
These can include becoming depressed, showing sudden changes in behaviour, talking about wanting to die and feelings of hopelessness.
These feelings do improve and can be treated.
If you are concerned about someone, or need help yourself, please contact the Samaritans on 116 123.
