The Propeller Quarter, located in Brabazon, north Bristol, has opened to accommodate University of Bristol students for the 2026/27 academic year.
The new halls will also house students from UWE Bristol, BIMM Music Institute, the University of Law, and more.
With a capacity of 745 students, room prices at The Propeller Quarter range from £160 to £240 per person per week.
Located over 5 miles from Senate House, commuting to campus from The Propeller Quarter takes 50-60 minutes by bus.
The developers say students will benefit from the new Bristol Brabazon railway station, set to open this autumn. However, no official opening date is confirmed.

Brabazon, described as a ‘new suburb’ of Bristol’s North Fringe, is a mixed-used development under construction at the former Filton Airfield.
YTL UK Group began developing the site of the vacant airfield in 2020. The developer is a subsidiary company of YTL Corporation, a Malaysian infrastructure conglomerate.
YTL UK described Brabazon as ‘one of the most exciting places to live in the West of England’, with students at The Propeller Quarter reportedly having access to sports courts, fitness facilities, a sauna and a community hub.
The new accommodation comes as the University of Bristol continues to take on an increasing number of undergraduates. Just two years ago, the University opened Metal Works, an 819-bed halls in Bedminster.
Bristol’s growing population and increasingly cramped city centre means student accommodations are appearing further out of the city.
Meanwhile, the University has cut bus passes for Metal Works residents and, from September 2026, for those in North Village accommodations.
YTL UK said The Propeller Quarter has ‘excellent transport connections’. Students look likely to rely on traditional bus and train routes to campus, as the University has not indicated intention to fund bus passes for residents.
