The University have made plans refurbish toilet facilities across campus with a planned spend of around £3.4 million. It has been announced that a portion of the budget will be invested into the provision of greater gender-neutral facilities into 'new buildings where capacity allows'.

The planned investment was announced via Twitter earlier this month by the University's Equality, Liberation and Access officer, Sally Patterson.

The investment comes as a result of SU campaigns for the provision of gender-neutral facilities on campus. It also comes following a statement made by the University last year outlining the institution's commitment to providing a working and learning environment 'inclusive' to all staff and students.

There are currently a limited number of gender-neutral toilets across the campus and the monetary commitment seeks to further the availability of such facilities. The SU have put together a comprehensive list of where staff and students can currently find campus-based gender-neutral facilities.
