The University of Bristol has confirmed a 54.7% increase in the number students infected with Covid-19 since Friday.
The updated figures published earlier today take the total number of students with positive test results to 393. This is an increase of 139 students since Friday 9 October.
Additionally, three members of University staff are currently positive for Covid-19.
The University has said that affected staff have been working from home and have not been on campus.
The University of Bristol, which has a community of 28,000 students and 7,000 staff, has agreed to release updates on the numbers of students and staff positive with Covid-19 every day and will be publishing the numbers on its website.
Bristol had previously declined to issue a count of the numbers of the university community who were infected.
The rise in the cumulative total number of students infected, comes three days after the Courtrooms was placed under a fourteen-day lockdown.
Around 300 students are currently self-isolating at the halls of residence and are being provided with food and other support from the University.
On Friday, the University said it was 'working closely with Bristol City Council and Public Health England to support confirmed cases and close contacts to self-isolate swiftly to contain any outbreaks.'
Two mobile testing sites, in addition to the testing centre at the Victoria Rooms, were installed for University staff and students at Stoke Bishop and the City Centre, in response to Friday's outbreak.
