The Bristol Old Vic, the oldest continuously working theatre in the English-speaking world, reopened last year following a £25m refurbishment. Empire Fighting Chance is a community project designed to combat anti-social behaviour and deprivation among young people through boxing.
In a statement announcing the visit, Kensington Palace stated that the trip's aim was to 'learn more about the city's rich cultural history, and visit organisations supporting communities most in need'.
The last visit to Bristol by a major royal was by Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, who attended a conference on mental health last September. No specific times have been given for the visits next week.
