Preview: Maisie Peters @ O2 Academy

Touring her new record 'The Good Witch', the multi-talented Maisie Peters will play in Bristol on October 31 and November 1.

Following up her debut record You Signed Up For This with her hypnotic rollercoaster of an album The Good Witch in June this year, Maisie Peters cemented her artistic ambition with tracks full of indie-pop confidence.

Written during the whirlwind of her 2022 tour that saw career highs and personal lows, the new record is a true time-capsule for that time that recounts romantic breakups, the importance of friendship and the power of self-worth. It's more introspective and reflective than her debut, but isn't shy of confidence and talent shining through tracks like the lead single 'Body Better'.

Peters is known for honest, witty and wholly relatable diary-style songs, building up a dedicated fanbase from initial open mic nights to sharing songs on YouTube. After The Good Witch went to #1 in the UK Album Chart, it's fair to say she's established herself as one of the defining voices in British pop today.

Having played the likes of the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in support of this record, she kicks off this UK tour with two dates at Bristol's O2 Academy - first on October 31, almost definitely with some Halloween fun planned, and the following day on November 1.

Peters explains The Good Witch in a press release as follows:

“This is my heart and soul, my blood on the page, the collection of stories that I’ve managed to capture in the past year. A true chronicle of my life in recent history, it is my own twisted version of a breakup album and it all draws upon the same couple of months’ worth of experiences and inspirations. It ducks and weaves between the real and surreal, and centres my own universe, of which I am of course the keeper of the keys and the holder of the cards - the good witch, if you will. It goes from light to dark in the flip of a switch and I hope takes you on a journey whereby the end you feel like you’ve gotten lost in someone else’s planet for a bit.”

Tickets are on sale now.
