Apple Day is an annual event where local businesses, community groups, staff, students, and members of the public come together to celebrate the harvest and help reduce food waste by turning unwanted apples into fresh juice and cider.

Talks and demonstrations will be happening throughout the day with opportunities to find out more about apples, orchards, and cider-tasting. Visitors can also enjoy a range of family-friendly activities including traditional fête games and Morris dancing.

Bristol council become first in UK to ban non-sustainable advertising
With the introduction of stricter regulations on council-owned advertising space, Epigreen explores the potential support and backlash such a strong environmental stance could face.

Entry is free for students. Members of the public who bring surplus apples which are rinsed and have not been treated with pesticides can also attend for free.

A full programme of the day can be found on the Botanic Garden's website.
