The Global Lounge has set up a series of monthly events, Talk and Support in Troubled Times, the first of which is today from 2:30 pm to 4 pm, in Senate House.

Global Lounge is a multicultural student hub which runs monthly Talk and support in Troubled Times events.

The University has emphasised platforms for support and guidance on humanitarian crises and global conflicts. This is in light of the recent escalation of the Israel-Palestine conflict, as well as other events such as the earthquake in Afghanistan.

More than 28% of University of Bristol students are international, with over 150 countries represented.

In an update, the University commented: ‘We are an international university with a deep commitment to social responsibility and democratic values.’

'This includes providing support where people have been affected by humanitarian crisis and conflict across the globe.'

These events are open to all the university community.

The next session will be this Thursday 12 October, from 2.30 pm until 4 pm on the first floor of Senate House. Global Lounge is looking to share more dates imminently.

The meetings bring together Bristol University leadership team representatives, student wellbeing teams, as well as international HR advisors.

They hope to provide space for both students and staff to come together and support each other in relation to world events.
