The University of Bristol’s Movember effort has passed the £40,000 mark. Together, individuals and societies have been raising money for men’s health and are well on track to meet their target of £50,000.
Sport plays a pretty big part in the lives of a lot of students during their time at university. Whether it is watching the Six Nations in spring, visiting the gym mere hours before going out or Wednesday coach journeys for BUCS, most of us are ‘sporty’ in some way.
On Sunday, the University of Bristol Modern Jive Society, along with three University dance societies and Mevans Dance, raised over £800 in a charity danceathon. The money will go to Bristol Black Carers and NHS Charities Together.
Five dance societies from the University of Bristol are set to host a danceathon in aid of charity this Sunday, 26 July. From 10am to 6pm, sessions will be run throughout the day by the Modern Jive, Salsa, Swing, Bachata, and Bollywood groups.
After a 100 day wait, the Premier League returns tonight, giving us hope that university sport is closer to a return. One team that will look a little different when we return is UBAFC, who have designed a new club badge for their much-anticipated return to the pitch.
Intramural rugby team, Clifton Crusaders, recently held a training session in support of mental health. They teamed up with the blog, So Happy In Town, to train wearing shirts raising awareness for mental health.
The British Universities Lifesaving Clubs’ Association student championship took place at Hengrove Park Leisure Centre on the 29th February and the 1st March. Teams from around the country, as well as two Greek universities, competed over the weekend in various lifesaving events.
