Bristol University ranked 8th in the UK by the Academic Ranking of World Universities

The field of Public Health at the University of Bristol was placed 8th while Earth Sciences came in at 20th and Aerospace Engineering at 27th.

The University of Bristol has ranked 8th in the UK and 64th in the world according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), managing to maintain last year’s climb of ten places.

ARWU is recognised as a leading international league table that provides data, determined by six measures, on the top 1,000 universities.

The measures, scored out of 100, are based on academic or research performance including alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, highly cited researchers and papers published in Nature and Science.

University of Bristol rises two places in Complete University Guide 2021

Bristol appeared at 47 out of 1000 universities for papers published in Nature and Science.

Additionally, the Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) ranked 20 subjects at Bristol in the world’s top 100, five of which placed in the top 50.

The field of Public Health placed 8th while Earth Sciences came in at 20th and Aerospace Engineering at 27th.
