Surprise, surprise, Bristol’s beloved party-boat Thekla is doing just fine and was never stuck in the River Avon.
It was of course our April Fool’s joke, inspired by the internet being awash with memes of the Ever Given container ship’s recent troubles in the Suez Canal.

And what’s more, the joke was such a titanic barrel of laughs that Thekla have kindly got onboard and are now offering one person the chance to win six free tickets for the venue’s reopening events beginning on the week commencing 21 June.
And if that’s knot enough for you, they’re also adding a free drink with every ticket.
