Ogayo was the first person to be elected International Students' Officer after the role was created for the 2019 elections. His duties involved supporting international students at Bristol in their studies and settling in.

Ogayo's duties will be taken up by the other elected officers.

Reflecting on his time working with the SU, Ogayo said: 'I am happy that with the help of the very dedicated SU Staff and Officer Team, I have managed to achieve my objectives and laid a foundation for  future International students officers to build on.' He added: 'I will surely miss you and Bristol.'

Despite the increased workload for the other officers, a spokesperson from the Students' Union stressed that international students will continue to be supported until the end of the academic year, adding: 'We wish [Julius] all the best for the future.'

Jason Palmer, Equality, Liberation and Access Officer, told Epigram: 'We’re splitting Julius' duties as is most appropriate to each of our roles, and with support from the SU staff team. As this is being split between us we don't see it adding a significant workload to any individual, although it does depend on what issues come up for international students this term.'
