These easy and delicious Easter-themed treats will fill your kitchen with the scent of spring-time. Try these recipes to get yourself in the Easter spirit this holiday!

Classic Easter nests:

What you will need:

  • 1 bag Mini Eggs
  • 4 squares Shredded Wheat cereal
  • 300g milk chocolate
  • Cupcake moulds

Method:

  1. Crush the Shredded Wheat into a large bowl into very fine threads
  2. Melt the chocolate (bain marie) and pour over the Shredded wheat and mix
  3. Portion the mixture into cupcake moulds
  4. Dot the mixture with Mini Eggs and allow to cool

Cream Egg Brownies:

Easter egg cookies:

What you will need:

For the cookie batter:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

For the icing:

  • 3 Cups icing sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Food colouring (would recommend bright colours such as yellow, orange, and pink)

Method:

  1. Mix the butter and sugar together using an electric whisk until smooth. Mix in the egg

  2. Add baking powder, salt, and flour and fold using a wooden spoon

  3. Place mixture in fridge for a few hours until firm

  4. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius

  5. Take dough mixture out of fridge and roll onto a clean surface. Cut out egg shapes using either a cookie cutter or free-hand

  6. Transfer the shapes onto a greased tray and place in oven for 9-10 minutes

  7. For the icing, combine the icing sugar, water, and vanilla using an electric whisk until thick paste

  8. Divide the mixture into separate bowls and add food colouring to desired colour and mix

  9. Place icing into separate piping bags and decorated cookies after cooled
