This morning, the emergency services were called to the city centre because of a welfare concern.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary have released the following statement to Epigram: 'Police were called at about 9.30am on Tuesday 29 January to a concern for welfare incident in Park Street.

'A man was on the roof of a property. The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident. The man came down safely at about 10.30am.'

With the incident dealt with by the police, Park Street has now been reopened.

Several police vehicles were in attendance, as well as fire engines and ambulances.

Pedestrians were allowed to walk on the road, so there appeared to be no immediate danger to onlookers.
