'We know this news may be distressing for members of the University community, especially those who knew and studied with [the student].

'We are deeply saddened by this tragic news and encourage any students or staff who are affected to contact University wellbeing services for help as well as seek support from friends or family. Information about the support available can be found on our website under our staff and student pages.

'Sadly, this is the second death in a short period of time and the University is doing everything we can to support all those affected by these deaths.'

It was reported earlier that a Fourth Year Electrical and Engineering student has died.

Most people who are thinking of taking their own life have shown warning signs beforehand.
These can include becoming depressed, showing sudden changes in behaviour, talking about wanting to die and feelings of hopelessness.  These feelings do improve and can be treated.
