Fashion Week trends on a student friendly budget

After a hectic month of fashion weeks in February (New York kicked things off with Men's Autumn/Winter, London took over continuing the Fall trends, and Milan/Paris closed the runways with some fabulous glamour), Style Editor Nancy Serle rounds up some of her favourite fashion week outfits, re-creating them with affordable high street brands that won't leave you penniless.

'Red, and yellow, and pink, and green, orange, and purple, and blue- yes, I wish I could afford Burberry too…' For his last show for the iconic British fashion house, Christopher Bailey opted for all things colour to pay homage to LGBT pride. Perhaps one of the most memorable moments from the whole of fashion week was Cara Delevingne returning to her catwalk roots in a floor sweeping furry rainbow.

Burberry also showcased a new tote bag with bold rainbow stripes, differing greatly from their usual beige, soot black and red pin stripes.

Rainbow veteran ASHISH did not disappoint either, offering a range of glittering, colourful pieces down the runway.

Check

Burberry are back at it again with the rainbow colouring, but this time adding it to the classic Burberry check. The brand's usual tan design was given an upgrade with the pattern being plastered over bags, puffer jackets and gillets.

Sticking with the check trend, Emilia Wickstead delivered a fantastic collection of striking red, pink and plumb tartan and dogtooth pieces that offered both masculine tailoring and flowing Japanese lines.

Sequins

Sequins featured heavily this season (yay!), with ASHISH leading the way with appliquéd goodies and floral designs.

Halpern channeled 70's disco in their collection of sequinned sartorial choices, showcasing a range of flares and mini dresses that mixed different textures and vibrant animal prints.

Corduroy

Whist for some, it may be reminiscent of your Grandad's trousers, corduroy was a huge emerging trend at both the women's and men's London Fashion week this season. Throwing it back to the men's week in January, Alex Mullins delivered a fantastic selection of neutral cord slacks, whilst Roland Mouret offered a selection of pastel co-ords.

Corderouy also made brief appearances on the runways of both Erdem and Emilia Wickstead.
